OMJ have commenced an extensive gas main replacement contract in the Bracknell Forest area.
The works have been ongoing from September 2020 and entail the replacement of ageing metallic pipes with new polyethylene mains and service connection pipework.
The works which are government mandated involve civil, mechanical and a small element of electrical engineering and contributes to a nationwide replacement programme. All works are carried out under procedures compliant with current government guidance on COVID-19.
Representing the client for the rollout programme, Chris Williams commented,
“In London West we abandon circa 150km of gas mains annually as part of the HSE led Iron Mains Risk Reduction Programme. OMJ are a key partner in this and are playing an important part in improving the gas network in Bracknell Forest. Their work will provide network resilience for the next 80 years! We look forward to working with all at OMJ as we move into the next framework period.”
The current contract is programmed for completion in March, 2021
