We’re upgrading the gas pipes in your area

We are working in your area to upgrade the gas pipes and these new pipes will help us to keep you safe, warm, and connected.

These works are essential:

The works to replace the gas pipes in the area are being undertaken to ensure compliance with the Iron Mains Risk Reduction Programme, which has been in place since 2002 and is enforced by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). This programme ensures public safety in the transportation of gas to properties.

The Pipelines Safety Regulations (1996) also permits the gas pipeline operator, to ensure that our pipelines are maintained in an efficient state, in efficient working order and in good repair.

The Project :

The project scope includes approximately 1800m of gas mains replacement and is located predominantly on the Bagshot Road Roundabout at the Harmans Water Road junction but also includes a significant extent of works along Opladen Way. The project is now 60% complete.

Ongoing Works :

We are this week completing the final gas main replacement works along Opladen Way in the Harmans Water area of Bracknell. These works commenced on the 5th August ‘26 and have been completed ahead of programme.

Next Phases of Works :

We are due to continue the undertaking of gas mains replacement on this project and in the immediate vicinity of the Bagshot Road / Sports Centre Roundabout commencing on the 28th September 2026. The works in this area will be undertaken across five separate phases.

 

Each phase will be communicated via this platform in advance.

Phase 1 of the works will involve a lane closure on the approach to Harmanswater Road in conjunction with a road closure at the junction of Nightingale Crescent with a 2 week programme duration anticipated. Traffic requiring access to Nightengale Crescent and any adjoining streets will be diverted along Harmanswater Road to the alternative entrance onto Nightengale Crescent.

 

The following are the anticipated dates for further information updates, each update being provided with up to 2 weeks advance notice of each phase implementation :

• Phase 2 : 29^th September ‘26
• Phase 3 : 14^th October ‘26
• Phase 4 : 22^nd October ‘26
• Phase 5 : 27^th October ‘26
