GAS TRAINEE SUPERVISOR

  • Working within a 50 mile radius within the M25 / M3 / M4 intersections
  • Good rates of pay with company vehicle and fuel expenses
  • Ability to work as part of a highly focused and results driven management team
  • Excellent platform to tap in to and learn from experienced mentors with proven track records within the industry

Experience on the natural gas distribution network and in particular with mains replacement works is desirable however individuals with a good foundation via either an engineering discipline qualification of via experience gained from a practical level within the wider utilities industry are equally desirable

 

GAS MAIN REPLACEMENT TEAMS

Tier One teams with versatility to also work in Tier two are desirable. All works are within a 50 mile radius within the M25 / M3 / M4 intersections.

Good rates of pay with performance-led bonus schemes are available for capable and well disciplined mains replacement teams.

]]> OMJ recently undertook a Stand Down Event for their gas engineering division, a truly collaborative event endorsed by speakers from both Cadent Gas and OMJ while also complemented by external guest speakers from INPD and Simple Tech Support. The event covered all aspects of operational delivery but provided a real focus on Cable Avoidance, Accessibility, Customer Care and Cyber Security.

OMJ’s Head of HSEQ, Shaun Howard, opened the event with a review of recent contract performance. The safety element of the day focused on cable avoidance and was superbly supported by Cadent and London’s Head of Mains Replacement, Stuart Donaldson.

 

Guest Speakers Gary Hawkins and Alexandra Akitici then took centre stage with a top class interactive session focussed on Accessibility and the associated impact of our works and Streetworks in general. The event continued with William Clement providing an insight into the psychological considerations of the various approaches to Customer Care while Nick Ashton from Simple Tech Support offered guidance and coaching on the hot topic of Cyber Security.

 

OMJ’s Mark Jordan hosted the event and concluded with his appreciation of all the speakers and the attendees, “We have been running this type of event now for several years but when you take a wholly collaborative approach with the unwavering support from a client such as Cadent, you can truly harness real engagement from our front line staff and provide a suitable platform for learning by all.”

OMJ made awards on the day to Scott Dominy, Carl Holt and Lee Cook for their Safety performance while Gavin Carty and William Richards were awarded for their performance in Customer Care. The event concluded that evening with a donation from OMJ to Blind In Business & Ehlers-Danlos Support UK in recognition of the efforts on the day by our Accessibility speakers.

]]> OMJ embraced the festive spirit again this week , this time in the Bracknell Forest and Surrey areas while supporting our client, Cadent Gas, in their distribution of generous Christmas gifts to some of the more vulnerable gas supply customers within those communities.

The venture was well received by the surprised and grateful recipients with Natalie Khan, Ben Meade and our very own multi-talented Gary Conway leading the way with the festive cheer. Well done to all involved and indeed a particular thanks to Cadent Gas for their generosity and kindness at what can be a difficult time of year for some of those recipients involved.

The gesture helped to finish off a positive year where OMJ and Cadent Gas have undertaken a  high volume of residential work in particularly restricted areas. Gary Conway commented “This was a very fulfilling and rewarding exercise and helps to round off a particularly successful year in OMJ where we have continuously moved the dial with our customer facing standards of delivery and in some of the most difficult residential work that I have yet to be involved with. The increased focus on the customer experience side of our delivery will further strengthen our overall service delivery offering as we head into Year 4 and 5 of the current framework model”.

The mains replacement rollouts by OMJ in partnership with our client, Cadent Gas, will continue in the Surrey and Bracknell local authority areas throughout 2024.
